Herdwick Camp

  • Camp for 4 from £95 per night
  • 1 double, 2 singles

Scales Plantation, the home of fabulous luxury Shepherd’s hut camps, has gone canvas! Their latest installation is a cosy tented retreat in a high, private corner of the woods looking out over the hills and the dry stone walls of the surrounding farm. The camp was named after the farm’s sheep, a local breed famed for their resilience. But you’ll need no such fortitude at Herdwick.

Wander from the comfy beds in the tents to the fully equipped cabin with it’s spacious kitchen and dining area and bathroom. There’s also the fire pit for the more adventurous outdoor cooks. The compost loo is in the same clearing and all facilities are only for guests of Herdwick. All around you is natural beauty, with the Lake District minutes away. Strike out from the camp into the hills or even take a gyroplane flight for a truly spectacular view!
