Three beautifully presented camps with comfortable Shepherd’s Huts for sleeping with cosy, hand-built cabins for the bathroom and living area. These camps are filled with log-burners in every room and are designed to sleep 4 guests.
Shepherd’s Hut Camps
Skiddaw
The first camp to meet in Scales Plantation. This has a beautiful aspect on arrival. Complete with all the facilities, it is set opposite a small pond which sits hidden by thickets. Here, resident dragon fly flit from reed to water.
Carrock
Set a little further into camp through a winding track of trees, this camp is tucked away on the right hand side. With a slightly lower camp fire setting, this is a wonderful camp to wile away the time with marshmallows by the fire.
Blencathra
The last of all camp settings, furthest away from the entrance and possibly the most remote of all three, this camp is all on different levels with beautiful , large limestone pieces at its centre.

The important stuff
Check in time is 5pm
Check out time is 09:30am
Each hut has a full size 4’6″ x 6’2″ double bed at one end and 2 single bunks at the other that can be adapted into a sofa. This makes the huts ideal for a couple or two adults and two children.
The hut is powered by solar power or a 12 volt battery which can be used to charge phones and so on.
Please inform Rob & Tab of any damage before you leave. Guests are liable to cover the cost of any damage or extra cleaning required. Accidents do happen, we understand and we try to be as fair as possible.
There are charging points in each camp for phones or cameras but no plug sockets
Sleeping arrangements
1 double and 2 bunks.
Kids & Pets
Children and pets both welcome, but please be careful of the resident sheep. Be aware there is only room for either 2 children OR just 1 baby. There’s no room for a travel cot but a bed guard can be provided for the bottom bunk if the top bunk isn’t in use.
Please, however, keep pets off beds and furniture and bring your own dog towels. Damage caused by pets to linens and furniture will be charged for.
Space for 2 pets no charge.

Gas hobs, Wood-burning range oven, Fire pit & BBQ, Dining area, Utensils all provided, Gas-powered fridge
Washing
Bath with shower attachment is next to the hut in a private, enclosed unit, Compost loo, The bathroom also has a little wood-burning stove, Hairdryers cannot be used in any of the camps.
Heating, lighting & bedding
All bed linen and towels provided, Lighting is provided either by solar power or a 12 volt battery, Each hut has a double bed at one end and removable bunk at the other that can be adapted into a sofa
